There is a restaurant in Paris called Dans Le Noir (or at least there used to be). You do not go for the food, but for the experience. It is unlike any other dining experience, as from the moment you enter the restaurant it is utterly dark, pitch black, not a sliver of light, I mean, not an ounce of illumination. You are led and served the entire meal by the loveliest of servers, who are visually impaired. You eat, drink and have your whole experience in the absolute absence of light. It is discombobulating and uncomfortable at first, embarrassing and humbling even, but slowly you lose self-consciousness and begin to relax, adjusting & allow your other senses to kick into High gear.
