Goldie and I wanted to step it up a bit for our anniversary. Alpino Vino was the perfect setting at nearly 12,000 feet above the beautiful town of Telluride, Colorado. With reservations just after sunset, we rode the gondola up to Allred’s Restaurant halfway up the mountain only to catch a snowcat dropping us right to the host of Alpino Vino.
Greeted with a glass of Champagne on the snowy porch, you enter into an intimate setting with a few tables, a flawlessly curated menu and one of the best wine lists we have seen. Our dinner was a five course pairing of rare French wines with local dishes and cheeses from the region.
Their Sommelier and Chef walked our small group through each course sharing stories and tasting notes along the journey. The crackling fire and warm wood tones in the building created such a romantic ambience… truly one of a kind! We will definitely be back.
